Bike Club Information

I have never ridden with a group before - is it still okay to join your Club?

Absolutely! You are the perfect candidate. We'll teach you how to ride safely in a group.

What equipment will I need to get started?

You need a bike (preferably a hybrid or road bike - not a mountain bike) in good working order (good idea to get it checked beforehand), an approved helmet, hydration (water bottle) and sturdy shoes (running shoes will do, no sandals, please). Other items you may want to consider are sun screen, light food snack.

Do I have to participate in the Healing Cycle Foundation ride in June in order to be part of your Club?

No, while a good number of Club members participate in the Healing Cycle Foundation fundraiser, you are not obligated to join.

Do we stop along the way during our rides?

Depending on the length of the ride, a pit stop is usually scheduled into the ride. There is an opportunity to get refreshments, but it is a good idea to bring your own just in case. Bananas, peanut butter in a pita, trail mix, power bar or fig newtons are good snacks.

Where do the rides start from?

Most of the rides will start from the parking lot of the Meadowvale Sports Park (MSP) located on Meadowvale Boulevard, two blocks west of Mississauga Road (north of 401) at Syntex Drive. Once a month, rides will start from a location outside Mississauga city limits. This information will be made available to members at least one month in advance of the ride date. The locations will include Terracotta, Campbellville, Hornby and possibly the Niagara area.
