In 2011 the Healing Cycle Foundation will reach a major milestone – the completion of our commitment to raise $1,000,000 for the new Palliative Care Unit at the Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. With this mission accomplished, we are now able to expand support to hospice palliative care organizations across Ontario.

During 2011 the Foundation will develop guidelines, criteria, and an application process to assist future grant applicants. As the guidelines and application process become formalized, they will be posted on this website. An advisory committee will be formed to assist the Foundation in the evaluation of grant applications. The intent is to make the Healing Cycle Foundation's application process clear, fair and easy to complete.

All hospice palliative care organizations within Ontario are eligible to apply for grants starting in 2012. The funding for these grants will be generated from the Foundation's general and in memory donations as well as the funds raised by participants from the annual Healing Cycle Ride. These grants will be independent of the money raised by Hospice Palliative Care Teams at the ride. See Hospice Palliative Care Teams for further information on how to enter a team.

As the Healing Cycle Foundation establishes itself provincially over the next few years, we will examine the feasibility of establishing Healing Cycle rides in other Ontario locations.

For further information about the grant process please contact Heather Campbell at 905-820-6081.
