Club Meadowvale Fundraises for THCF
Club Meadowvale and its members showed their compassionate colours by hosting their 2nd Annual Aero-bathon in support of the Healing Cycle Foundation on February 27th and 28th, 2009. The Aero-bathon continues to raise the awareness of the Foundation's role and presence in the community.
Nicola Ferri, Manager and Maria Galati, Membership Sales Manager of Club Meadowvale at Delta Meadowvale, along with a few other key volunteers, were instrumental in making the two-day event a flourishing success. Club members paid $50 to participate and had the option of fundraising.
The two-day event offered many challenges for the participants, with a Cardio Challenge, racquet-athon, spin-athon, along with a selection of group classes such as boot camp, Zumba, Turbo Jam, Butt n’ Abs and Yoga Stretch.
Friday night was abuzz with an appetizing buffet-style dinner and a balloon-bust live auction, where winning bidders could pop balloons which held the surprise prize inside. The auctioneer kept everyone on their toes and it was clear that everyone had a great time!
A Fun-athon was organized for the children, who were not to be left out of the activities. They had a blast with an hour Zumba dance class followed by pizza and a movie night.
The community spirit throughout the event was buoyant, upbeat and could be felt amid the laughter and benevolent atmosphere. The Healing Cycle Foundation is extremely appreciative of the fact that Club Meadowvale organized the entire event and was able to raise $5,200 in total donations.
