Race Team

Team Mission:

To have a competitive cycling team that will increase awareness of the Healing Cycle Foundation and the sponsors of the race team, by achieving significant results at race events.

Bike Team

The riders from L to R are Greg Cavanaugh, Bruce Krip, Pavel Stanojevic, Stirling McArthur, Stephen Eastwood, Jean-Paul Tesolin and Francois Faust.

Greg Cavanaugh

Originally Hailing from New Zealand, this Kiwi is as passionate about being Canadian as he is about his heritage.  Originally both a short track speed skater and cyclist representing New Zealand, he has been a regular in the North American racing scene since 1995.  Racing at both the elite level and now masters, he has many podiums at the provincial, national and North American master level. This natural competitive drive allows Greg to run a successful business and continue to be a threat on the bike at any race.

Stephen Eastwood

Steve has been racing a long time, originally competing in Duathlons and is also a former Ironman finisher. The past two years has seen Steve hone his skills to achieve a number of podium results, including a silver medal in the Provincial Championships.  As a business owner and family man with two daughters, Steve finds ways to maximizing his efforts on the bike to spend more time at home.

Francois Faust

Originally from the province of Quebec where the passion for cycling runs deep, Francois now finds himself in our area where surprisingly there is a more than healthy cycling community.  An extremely strong rider who specializes in the “race of truth”, the time trial, Francois is looking to bring this skill set to an organized team where he can maximize his and the team’s potential.  With his children with their own families now, when he is not busy racing his bike, he can be found riding a tandem bicycle with his wife, and sometimes even on vacation touring Italy.

Bruce Krip

Bruce has been involved with competitive bike racing for 17 years.  Originally from Quebec, he started bike riding as a means of rehabilitating a severe knee injury from soccer.  He was instantly hooked and decided to give up a leather ball for 2 wheels.  After completing a graduate degree at York University, he had more time to train and race.  This has allowed him to race around eastern Canada, the Northeast U.S. and internationally at the Tour of Trinidad at the elite level.  Bruce enjoys the team aspect of bike racing and will not hesitate to sacrifice himself to get a teammate on the podium.  Despite a limited time to train and ride due to his busy travel schedule for his career, he makes sure every effort counts when he gets on his bike.

Stirling McArthur

Growing up in a small northern town in Ontario, Stirling honed his cycling skills doing laps around the town - about one Toronto city block! Relatively new to the whole racing scene, he took up the sport at the tender age of 27. His drive and ambition has seen him race at the elite level, and recently, as a master, he has achieved gold medals in both the road race and time trial at the Provincial Championships.   A passionate ambassador for the sport, he has been involved in many charities that allow him to combine cycling while at the same time giving back to the community.

Pavle Stanojevic

Pav started out on the competitive mountain bike scene in Ontario, but caught the road racing bug as he used it for training in preparation for racing in the dirt.  He has been consistently achieving top 10 results, and is looking forward to racing with an organized team that can help elevate him onto the podium.  In the fall, he enjoys racing cyclocross, which allows him to use his mountain bike skills and his strengths from the road.  A recent father of two, he has been able to remain competitive, while also being dedicated to his family.

Jean Paul Tesolin

JP, as he is affectionately known, has been racing for longer than anyone else on the team and has a passion for the sport that is unlimited.  As a co-manager of Via Ciclante with his brother, Andrew, JP is always surrounded by cycling.  His passion has been able to spread in greater ways throughout the community with his involvement in co-founding the Healing Cycle Foundation.  Also a dedicated father of three, JP tries to finds balance between his family, the Foundation, his work and racing his bike.
